I bought this cord for use with my Toro Power Shovel 7.5 Amp Snow Thrower/Electric Broom #38360and it worked just fine. Besides, this cable came with free shipping and the low-temp one didn't. As other reviewers have suggested, there are cables designed to be more flexible in sub-zero temperatures. However, I was able to use the snow blower and the small amount of stiffness may have worked to my advantage, keeping the cable away from the blower blades. :*)I also appreciated the lighted end. It lets you know, when you're standing at the snow blower (or whatever) that the cable is plugged in to an outlet.
I bought this to go with my new earthwise electric lawn mower. It works just like it ought to. The lighted end is a great way to be sure I've turned on electricity to the right outlet.
As an electrician by trade I know the need for a cord with #12 gauge wire in a 100 foot cord. I recieved the cord and used it the same day. Easy to coil, nice lighted end cord cap, and a good price as compared to leading hardware stores. I bought this with a Toro leaf blower that I didn't want to burn up with a cheap lighter gauge conducter. The 100' will reach most of my yard without the use of plugs which come undone or create more resistance problems and voltage drop.
An added plus, Amazon is a lot less expensive than the local big box store for the exact same cord. For 12 guage, that is about as good as it gets.
I am using it to connect my RV to my house current. This is a heavy cord and is rated for outside.
The rating is 15 A, 125 V, and 1875 W. It performs perfectly.
I like the feature that lights up a little LED at the female end to let you know you have power to the plug. It is water resistent as an outdoor cord must be.
Can't go wrong.
As with most extension cords there is no provision for maintaining the electrical connection when pulling on the cord or the device connected to it. This product provides the features required of an Heavy Duty Extension Cord; Heavy gage wire (12ga), Heavy Jacket material.
If you have heavy duty electical devices you absolutly need heavy duty extension cords. A Heavy Duty Extension cord as an important tool to be had in most workshops and home/yard storage areas.
If an heavy duty extension cord is not used circuit breakers will most likely be tripped when the device is working hardest. Most people do not realize that high current useage Electric Devices have limitations when used at lengthy distances from the power source.
Consequently, larger gage wire is required due to the current draw. The high visibility Yellow color of the jacket material provides an easy reminder of where the cord is and that it is in use.
However, I consider the price of this product makes it an excellent value.
